| So different and refreshing!! | |
I love this album. It has taken over my psyche. I haven't been so excited to hear a new band since picking up Opeth. If they keep this up they will be one of the greatest bands. Alissa has haunting and intense vocals fueled by a deep lyrical craft that is a rare talent. The musicianship is top-notch and keeps you on your toes. The only real soft spot is an a-cappela rendition of Tchaikovsky's thematic Swan Lake which is odd to hear admist the chaos of these 11 tracks but somehow refreshing. The Agonist mix in various genres and musical styles like a good prog band should but keeps the meal in bite-size portions - most tracks barely topping 4 minutes. With so many bands coming off sounding like rip-off artists these days, it's nice to hear something that really puts new life into metal.

| Good album | |
They have definitely improved since the last album. The musicianship is tighter and more technical and the song writing has improved. But, they still have a ways to go before being great.
