The sixth studio album of epic, densely-layered and multi-textured power metal of the finest caliber. Here, the band's sound is honed by producer Flemming Rasmussen (the man with fingerprints on Metallica's Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets) and features a Tolkien-based conceptual theme. Liner notes translated into English for this domestic release. "[This is] power metal not for the faint of heart!" - Sue Nolz, Metal Maniacs.

The best BG CD?
This CD was my first introduction to Blind Guardian after reading a review in Metal Maniacs. While listening to it for the first time, I realized I never heard anything like it up to that point in time. I was blown away. I was speechless. I coulnd't believe what I had just heard - it was so f'in epic! Layer upon layer of sound that melded together perfectly, nothing was out of place. I consider BG one of my favorite bands, and I believe this is their best piece of work so far. So of their older stuff comes close, but I think this was the perfect disc for them sonically and lyrically which I think they will have a hard time matching again. Highly recommended for any fan of bombastic metal.
