I've been listening to this CD since it was released and I'm still not bored of it. Sure, it's not technical or extreme but there's a menacing charm and creativity here that can only be attributed to Tom Warrior, not to mention there's also quite a bit here that reminds me of HellHammer! Never a bad thing, I just wish that every Celtic Frost album had the character and power of this album - too late though!

| The best CD I heard during 2006-2007 | |
I was doubtful when I read that the new release of Celtic Frost will be in a different direction... I remember that saturday very clearly, I went to the CD shop and asked for Monotheist and they had the Deluxe Slipcase version.. when I opened it, just because of the art I knew at that moment that I was in front of something special. I play the CD since the beginning and the first two tracks were pretty standard to CF, but when I heard A dying god coming into human flesh, os abysmi vel daath, aim alohim and the last three songs (tryptich) I was blown away, I had been listening heavy metal and other metal generes and I don't remember to feel the same since Reign in blood from Slayer. There are no filler songs in this CD and the slpcase version worth the money. If you want to feel inside you guts something very intense this is a CD from you. Don't miss it.
