Cirith Ungol haven’t been a band that had to prove themselves with neck breaking finger work outs, but searched for their salvation in real songs. But at the same time far beyond the stale mainstream taste. And that was the only way to reach true cult status. Even if the band (commercially) never has been among the big names, legions of fans still think back at unforgettable hymns such as the fast opener "Blood And Iron", with its simple and strong singalong chorus, the equally fast "100 mph“ with a great solo, “Nadsokor” (which deservedly has been covered by Doomsword), the majestic “War Eternal” with its layered, absolutely enchanting chorus or the viscous “Doomed Planet”, with awe, even after decades.
