In Flames, one of the most successful metal bands in the world, are finally back with their new studio album, Sounds Of A Playground Fading! A listen through this new album and it’s plain to see that In Flames is holding steady to the same path they’ve been on since Clayman. The record is rife with the band’s signature low-tuned heaviness and smooth melodic hooks. There is still the In Flames on this record, fast-paced and aggressive Gothenburg style. (2011)

good riddance to bad rubbish...
So this is their last album as evidenced by the "jesters door" track. I honestly expected better when I bought this album. All the songs on it sound like songs they've already put out before. For every part of brilliance there's three more parts complacency as if they are just going through the motions on every song. I liked the Sense of Purpose album and think they should have just ended it there. Jesper Stromblad was not present in the writing process of this album and it shows. If you're a die-hard IF fan, go ahead and pick this up, but seriously you're not missing anything.
