I love this record!
As a huge Epica fan, I had to snap this record up. I'll leave the excellent content review to the CD editions, but I will certainly remark that the quality of this vinyl release is extraordinary. The first thing is the colored vinyl. Record 1 is red and record 2 is gold. I have always loved colored vinyl, but especially red! This is a bright transparent red.
Next is the weight of the vinyl. Very heavy (no pun intended). The mastering and pressing are also flawless (hard to find these days...why do all my records from the 70s sound better than a brand new record?). The sound of this record is excellent.
And third is the quality of the packaging. Sturdy gate-fold with anti-static inner liners. The only complaint I have is the "block" style of the lyric printing. I find lyrics easier to read if they are formatted like a poem. These are just like paragraphs. No biggie. That's what darklyrics.com is for.
If you love Epica, Mark Jansen, After Forever and high quality analog sound, buy this record! Hell, buy this record anyway, just for the colored vinyl.
