On its 2007 outing, A NEW DISEASE IS BORN, the Swedish metal band Nightrage unveils a bold set of propulsive tunes. While the group, fronted by the raspy-voiced Jimmie Strimell, clearly draws from death/thrash metal, it also nods to the more melodic sounds of vintage NWOBHM acts such as Iron Maiden, as revealed by the intricate, chiming guitar lines of "Scathing."
