Dutch act Nox is making its debut into the death metal scene with "Ixaxaar." But when you dig a little under the surface, it becomes clear that Nox is anything but a group of first-timers. Consisting of former Centurian, Nox is hardly what you would call a newcomer, and this album shows it. Nox execute a swirling mass of speed-inspired/technically proficient black metal noise at a lightening pace that could only have come from such seasoned musicians, with the briefest of guitar solos tempering the ongoing relentless assault.
