| Of all the Candlemass albums, 1998's 'Dactylis Glomerata' certainly has the most interesting history. It was originally begun as the second Abstrakt Algebra album, the band also helmed by bassist Leif Edling. Over time, the project took on the Candlemass name, the original A.A. II recordings were scrapped, and the album was finally released in 1998. Featuring work by Michael Amott (Carcass, Carnage, Arch Enemy), 'Dactylis Glomerata' is a more experimental, progressive Candlemass than anything that came before it. This double CD presents the original album recordings, plus, for the first time ever, the recordings that provided its foundation, the stuff that was intended to become 'Abstrakt Algebra II' (and this recording features the mighty Mats Leven on vocals!).
